March 19th, 2012 - Stony Brook University

Team Igloo is the 2012 U9 Shamrock Shootout Lacrosse Tournament Champions

Team Igloo wins Shamrock Shootout for U9 Boys Elite Travel Division Team Igloo a relative new comer to the elite travel circuit opened up its spring and summer tournament schedule in flying colors yesterday in Stony Brook New York with 4 straight impressive victories in route of their first spring championship. The boys where literally scrapped out their beds for an early morning start time of 7:30AM. With a 40 minute drive to Stony Brook leaving their houses at around 6AM you would of thought this was a tee time and not the start of a u9 tournament lacrosse game. However, it was extremely awesome to end early. Team Igloo began by playing Team Long Island to open up the tournament, winning the matchup. Next Team Igloo took on Team 91 Orange and it was a battle as always. Team Igloo came out on top winning in an impressive fashion. Next, Team Igloo took on another Team Long Island that through in a wrinkle for our boys by playing zone defense; allowing Team Igloo to hold on to the ball for very long periods of time, however Team Long Island gave us a run for our money. Finally, Team Igloo advanced to the finals against the Dune Dawgs another newly formed elite travel team. Team Igloo advanced past the Dune Dawgs in championship form.

March, 2012 - Hofstra University

Team Igloo plays at Halftime of the Hofstra Notre Dame Game

Team Igloo plays at the halftime of the Hofstra Vs. Notre Dame Game Thanks to the wonderful people at Hofstra University Team Igloo was able to play at the half time of the Hofstra University Mens lacrosse game vs. Notre Dame. It was only a 8 minute game, but the impressive early March crowd cheered on the boys to a really competitive intersquad scrimmage. The final score was only 1 to nothing in a defensive battle; although it wasn't because there was a lack of shots. Not only did both goalies play extremely well, but every boy wanted to be the one that scored in front of the big crowd. It was quite an experience for the boys. One I think they will never forget.
