Kids’ lacrosse goals add up to $5,500 donation to breast cancer

Team Igloo Raises Funds for Breast Cancer Awareness

Every time a member of the BC Champions (a.k.a) Team Igloo 2021 Black Ice scored a goal this fall season 2013, the lacrosse team raised another $82 for the fight against breast cancer. The 10- and 11-year-old players from Long Island’s North Shore scored 55 goals in all — and one parent donated an extra $1,000 — bringing the total contribution to $5,500.  Head Coach Anthony S. Alexander said, “Anytime you can teach young men that there are more important things then sports, then your one step closer to teaching them how to be better people.”   Igloo needs to thank John Panagopoulos a father of one of the player for coming up with this great idea, and to Jeff Burno who donated the uniforms in support of this great cause.  All proceeds where donated to Kat’s Ribbon of Hope Foundation.
